December 18, 2008 Homeless Shelter/Meal Box/Pantry Items---This month the item is napkins, plastic forks, spoons, knives. Kids, don't forget to bring a non-perishable food item every Sunday to help fill our new pantry. Our Numbers: 78 for morning services; 34 for evening services; 44 for Wednesday; contribution $3336 budget for 2008 is $2600. EVENTS: *Dec. 19th---630am---Men's breakfast and devotional at the Daily Grind. The men are studying prayer. *December 23rd---Tuesday morning Ladies Bible Study at 10am.*Dec. 28th---No fellowship meal this month. No business meeting. Singing for evening service. *Dec. 31st---7:00-8:00PM Regular Wednesday Night Class Format. 8:15-10:15PM Snacks/Sandwiches/Pizza/ Finger foods plus Fun (activities: Board games, Wii Games, X Box, Game Cube, Cards, Movie, Etc.). Whoever can bring games send email or see Winfred or Elton. 10:30PM- AM of 2009 Songs of Adoration (Praise) & A Special Time of Prayer bringing in the new year. All the children and adults will be together at this time, no more games. Except those who need to be in the nursery. (Designated brothers will pray for various areas during this phrase of the night) *January 11th---Monthly Birthday celebration and devotional at Ashton Place. *January 25th---4th Sunday. Fellowship meal following morning services. Business meeting at 4pm. Singing fellowship for evening service. GREAT NEWS *We had a great response for the items for the gift bags for Ashton Place and we had 46 in attendance Sunday afternoon!!! *It was great to see Chris & Ryan Alligood back with us Wednesday evening! We look forward to Leanne & James joining him soon back in the area!!! Glasow *Fern Nickels and her family in the loss of Mervin on Saturday. The funeral was held on Wednesday. Fern and the entire family send their many "thanks" to everyone for everything that has been done for them during this time. *Bill asked for prayers for Rosetta Inmon and the health challenges she is facing. *Robin asked for prayers on behalf of Sam & Sidni as they will be spending the weekend with their dad for the first time in 3 years. Also for her as she faces a court hearing on January 13th concerning custody. *Freeman and issues with his blood pressure. He is to meet with a doctor in Chicago today and asks for prayers that he will not need to be on medication. *Lisa asked for prayers for Dave Arny. He fell and broke his hip and is in rehab recovering. *Jane Alligood, Ryan's mother...had gallbladder surgery Wednesday evening. *James Alligood has pink eye. *Elton asked for prayers for his father-in-law, Jr. Hollman (Deloras's dad). He has cancer and is in PCMH. *Pat & Karin asked for prayers for the family of their friends, the Pratt's. JoAnn Pratt passed away recently and we are asked to remember her husband Dick and the rest of the family. *Leon Jackson asked for prayers for his family. *Mary Lois as she recovers from hip surgery. The surgery went well on Tuesday and she is home recovering. *Linda Chambers asked for prayers for her nephew, Ron Cribb. He had a massive heart attack last week and is only 55 years old. He had more testing performed this week...pray for his healing. *Pearless continues to struggle with back pain issues this week.
